Olivio graduated in 1990 from the University of Toronto, St. Michael’s College with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. He received his Law degree in 1993 from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1995 after articling for the late Honourable James Michael Flaherty. In 2017, Olivio received his Master of Laws in Administrative Law from Osgoode Hall.
Olivio has worked in private practice, as well as for two GTA municipalities as legal counsel advising on Litigation/Planning/Municipal Law matters. He also previously sat on the York Region Joint Board of Management for the Prosecution of Municipal By-Law Offences as the City of Vaughan’s representative. Olivio has represented clients at all levels of court, from small claims court to the Supreme Court of Canada.
Olivio has received awards and commendations for his work from his clients, organizations he has worked with (such as the York Regional Police, The Municipal Law Enforcement Association of Ontario), and municipalities. Olivio currently provides counsel to Professional Organizations and Non-Profit Organizations.
On a personal note, Olivio is an avid history and politics buff. He enjoys reading historical and political biographies. He is also a huge Star Trek fan. In his spare time, Olivio enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and dog, Maximus.
